Thank you for your interest in our event. The below is a summary of the event instructions. If you have entered the event, other details will be included in your event pack. The packs will be sent late September - early October. There are three distances that can be entered; Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 10 Kilometres (6.1 Miles) and 5 Kilometers (3.1 Miles). The route for the half marathon will be over 2 laps. The event is suitable for walkers and power walkers of all abilities. The use of prams (strollers) and baby joggers are allowed. The entry fee for the Half Marathon is £22.00 and £25.00 on the day. The entry fee for the 10k is £17.00 or £20.00 on the day and £12 for the 5k .... a large percentage of the entry will be donated directly to the charity we are supporting. Participants can also choose to raise individual sponsorship but is not mandatory for entering the event. The event headquarters is the Llanelli Discovery Centre Directions to the start of the race will be given at the Discovery Centre Parking will be in the car park at the North Dock. Parking is charged at the normal car-park rate; however all parking of vehicles is at the owner’s risk. Toilet facilities will be provided at the event. Participants should bring a change of clothing and waterproof clothing in case of poor weather. The walk will start at approximately 10:00am and will take place in a safe traffic free environment along the Millennium Coastal Park To minimise any delays please be AT LEAST 1 HOUR EARLY. The course will be on tarmac surface and is considered flat with a few mild undulations. There will be distance markers, toilets and water stations on route. There will be professional photographers ( Sporty Snaps ) at the event – don’t forget to give a smile when passing the camera especially at the finish (if possible). Due to the time of the year, it is advisable to bring suitable clothing to possibly wear during the walk, to safeguard against the possible conditions. There will be an event memento and goody bag for all participants. The race number is supplied as part of the event pack. Numbers must be worn on the front – please supply your own safety pins. There will be an aerobics warm-up session 15 minutes before the start of the event. There will be an announcement 5 minutes prior to the start of the event; when participants must report to the start line of their event. A safety de-brief will be given at this time. At the race finish participants are encouraged to leave the finish area as quickly as possible. There will be light refreshments available at the event to include teas, coffees, soft drinks and light snacks.
